A Better First Week with Your iPhone 17 Pro Max

A new phone usually spends its first week travelling farther than expected: from the desk to the commute, from a café table to a crowded bag. If you are setting up an iPhone 17 Pro Max, a few small decisions at the start can make daily use feel much easier.

Start with the fit, not the colour

Check the exact model name before choosing a case or screen protector. “iPhone 17” and “iPhone 17 Pro Max” may look like small variations on a product listing, but their dimensions and camera openings are different. A close-looking fit is not a proper fit.

Once the model is right, think about how you hold the phone. A large screen is lovely for reading and video, but it also changes the balance in one hand. Try to picture the case during a normal day: taking a call while walking, pulling the phone from a pocket, or setting it on a table for a video call. Grip and a comfortable stand often matter more in those moments than a finish that only looks good in a photo.

Fit the screen protector before the phone gets busy

Installing a protector on a clean phone is simpler than doing it after a week of pockets, fingerprints and dust. Work on a clear surface, wash and dry your hands, then use the supplied cleaning materials and alignment guide. Do not rush the last step: check the edges before pressing the glass down.

If you plan to use a case as well, make sure the protector is case-friendly. A protector pressed against the case edge can lift, even when each item looks fine on its own. The aim is a small, even gap rather than two accessories fighting for the same space.

Choose a case for your real routine

Some people want the lightest possible feel; others would rather have a secure grip or a stand that makes long calls less tiring. There is no universal “best” case. A useful test is to list where the phone is most often used and what would annoy you most: slipping from your hand, rocking on a desk, or feeling bulky in a bag.

When browsing TORRAS cases, look at the product’s stated compatible device, available colours and photos for that exact model. The same case family can have different versions, and the correct model is more important than a familiar series name.

Give the setup a quick final check

After fitting the case and glass, test the side buttons, camera opening and screen edges. Place the phone face down and face up on a clean table to see how it rests. If the case has a stand, open and close it a few times. It takes a minute, and it is easier than discovering a poor fit on the way out.

A good first-week setup does not need a long shopping list. A correctly sized case, a properly fitted screen protector and a little attention to how you actually use your phone are enough to begin well.
