Case descriptions can be full of broad labels, but the details that matter are often simpler. Use these six checks to compare options for the phone you actually own.
1. Exact device fit
Match the complete model name, including Pro, Pro Max or Ultra. A close-looking case can still have the wrong camera opening or button position. The case should hold the phone firmly without pressing its controls.
2. Screen and camera clearance
Look for an edge that keeps the display and camera area from resting directly on a flat surface. If you use a screen protector, check that the case lip does not lift it at the corners. This combination matters more than a single accessory viewed in isolation.
3. Grip and pocket feel
A case is carried every day, so consider its texture, weight and thickness. Smooth finishes can be easier to slide into a pocket, while more textured finishes may feel more secure in the hand. Decide which trade-off fits your routine.

4. Stand usability
If the case includes a stand, check how it opens and closes and whether it supports the phone at a useful viewing angle on a stable surface. It should fold away neatly when you hold the phone.
5. Buttons and openings
Volume and power buttons should feel responsive. Camera, speaker and port openings should be clear. A feature is not valuable if it makes basic phone use awkward.
6. Evidence behind protection claims
Read any testing details carefully and look for the conditions behind a claim. No case can promise protection from every fall. Fit, coverage and your own handling habits are more useful to judge than a dramatic label alone.
